Jadeveon Clowney thinks guards aren't real athletes

Well I didn't see that coming, but it sounds like Jadeveon Clowney thinks guards aren't athletic and saying that they're just physical and maulers. Here's what he said exactly:

“We love that matchup,” Clowney said. “We feel like they’re the unathletic guys. That guard position, they’re not real athletes down there. So they’re just physical and maulers. But we try to get in there and create those matchups for certain guys and hopefully we get some wins.

It is what it is, but they are important to the game, even if they're not as athletic. What do you guys think though? Do you agree?

You can read more below.

I agree to some extent, but I think it's kind of harsh to say, considering your team has guards. Right? Idk, I just feel it's a harsh thing to say. Yeah Guards aren't as imposing, but they get the job done a lot of the time. Give them some credit.

lol I agree. Guards couldn't do most of what other players can. Yeah they block defenders, but that's about it.

I guess someone didn't like those comments, as he already got a response about it.

Geoff Schwartz didn't like the comments and has criticized him for it.

Kinda a roast on the poor guy. Hate to say it, but maybe it'll fuel him to get through the line more.

Yeah a bit of a low blow if you ask me, but I get it. I think he's just saying that to kind of get under the skin of the opposing teams.

I think it's a dumb take on his part, but I understand why he's saying it. It's a way to hype himself and his team up, even if it's at the expense of even their own guards.
