I have been following the browns fan since 1964. i always thought that when they introduced the super bowl in 1967 that i would get to see the browns play in one with my dad.
my dad passed away in 2009, never getting to see his beloved browns make it to the big game. i still held out hope that i would be able to see the browns in the super bowl. at last, i turned 65 this year and looking at the deals and strategy of the browns front office i doubt i will live long enough to see them make the super bowl.
For me, it's all about the draft and building your team thru the draft. in our division, you have to be able to do two things. run the ball and stop the run. we cant stop anyone from running and we don't run the ball enough.
we need to abandon this analytic style of drafting and starting getting players that meet the strategy of running the ball and being able to stop the run. if you look at the rest of the teams in our division, they all have solid defensives and the ability to run the ball. they are the ones winniong division title, not us.
it's time to abandon paul depodesta and kevin stefanski and move on. there strategies are not working for drafting players or for gaming planning.
i hope one day before i die to see the browns in the super bowl, it's looking like a long shot right now.
