Weird how that works out, John Johnson III was recently released due to cap space, and now the Browns are looking to bring in veteran safety Jessie Bates III instead. Do you think this is a good move? Is it a good replacement for Johnson III?

I think Johnson would have been perfectly fine, but I guess he wanted more money than they could offer him.

Johnson III is still young and healthy, so he will likely land somewhere very fast.

Gotta make the hard choices sometimes. We can't afford to keep everyone, even if he's a great talent, sometimes we have to cut the good ones too.

He'll have a great career though, so he'll be fine.
 
I wasn't happy when I heard John Johnson III was not coming back. Sucks, because he was doing awesome with the Browns, and now he's going to go out there and give his talents to another team. :(
 
It sucks, but I think this Jessie Bates III kid will be a good alternative. Even though I think Johnson III is a better player, but I think we'll be fine either way.

Not much to be done about that, cap space needed to be cleared and we had to cut him because of it. Bates should be a suitable replacement for him.
 
Yo Bates is great dude, he'll be good for us. I know it sucks losing another talent, but we got a good talent in his place I think. If we get him that is. I don't know if we tried to pick him up yet.
 
Who's to say we'll even get Jessie Bates, we could end up not getting him and having to look at another option at Safety.
 
I wish they would keep Johnson III, but I understand they need to make hard decisions about this teams future, and that results in some players having to be cut.
 
Jessie Bates should be a worthy replacement if we can get him. Going to miss Johnson, but I am willing to bet that there will be many teams interested in him.
