Why are fans throwing stuff at players?

Have you guys heard recently about fans throwing stuff at players? It seems to be happening a lot in the NBA currently, now that covid restrictions have been lifted, fans are out and about. And they seem to think they can do whatever they want. Supposedly one fan was arrested and charged with a dangerous weapon when he threw a water bottle at Kyrie Irving. I think that's who it was.

Anyway, I wonder if this will happen in the NFL when games start up again.

Because they're stupid and think they can get away with it. It's been a thing in sports since the dawn of time basically. But I think with covid, they're starting to take it more seriously, because that bottle could have a virus on it, you never know. So, I think the NBA is just taking it more serious because they don't want to risk their players in any way.
